The Local Lantern is a one-person hometown paper for Calhoun County, written and published from Piedmont. Every Friday I send out the digest: what happened this week, what’s happening this weekend, and a local business worth knowing better.

The directory here isn’t scraped from some database that went stale in 2019. I add every listing myself, and owners can claim theirs for free and keep their own hours and phone number current. If a listing is wrong, it’s my fault and I’ll fix it.

The promise: no clickbait, no drama, no reposting rumors. If the Lantern says it, I checked it. And if I get something wrong, tell me and I’ll correct it out in the open.
