Jennifer Payne
Photographer & Owner
Jennifer is a Northeast Alabama photographer, born and raised in the South and based most of her life in Jacksonville. She works out of her own studio in downtown Piedmont, drawn to art and nature, hiking, waterfalls, and long bike rides. Her toddler is usually along for the ride, so you may meet him too.
What she photographs
Jennifer covers the full run of life's milestones: high school seniors, families and littles, maternity and newborn, couples and engagements, children, dance, sports, graduations, and group sessions. Sessions happen in her Piedmont studio or on location around the area, and she offers a client closet and a free wardrobe consultation with every booking. Licensed, insured, and by appointment.
Seniors, couples & families
On location around Northeast Alabama
From senior portraits in a wildflower field to engagements under string lights and family sessions by the lake, Jennifer shoots all over the area. Downtown Piedmont alone puts murals, the Chief Ladiga Trail, and scenic nature trails within walking distance of the studio. She serves Piedmont, Jacksonville, Gadsden, Anniston, Oxford, Centre, Hokes Bluff, Heflin, Spring Garden, Birmingham, and the rest of Calhoun County.
Maternity, newborn & littles
The early chapters, gently kept
Jennifer photographs maternity and newborn sessions with a soft, natural touch, along with milestone and children's portraits. Whether it's a boho maternity shoot in a flower field or a bright, airy studio sitter session, the focus is on real expressions and easy comfort, especially for the little ones.
The studio
A studio downtown, and available to rent
The studio is an 800-square-foot space in downtown Piedmont on Seaboard Boulevard, adjacent to the Chief Ladiga Trail. It comes stocked with props and backdrops, has a handicapped-accessible entrance, a restroom, and parking for photographers and clients. Fellow photographers can rent it too: $75 per hour, one-hour minimum, contract required.
Seasonal mini sessions
Themed minis through the year
A few times a year Jennifer runs seasonal mini sessions: short, themed shoots at a set rate, from fall fairytale setups to Christmas tree farm mornings and studio glitter minis for the kids. They're quick (usually 15 to 20 minutes), come with a set of edited images, and fill up fast. Watch her page for the next round.
